I’ve just figured out how to capture someone’s email address and return them a free PDF, so I wanted to share that here.

You’ll need a free http://mailchimp.com account. I’m sure http://campaignmonitor.com does it too, however I’ll be using MailChimp:

1: upload your PDF to your website and copy the url.
2: create a ‘thank you’ page on your site and put the above url on it.
3: create a free MailChimp account
4: make a list (or use an existing one)
5: create a form for that list.
6: on the Confirmation ‘Thank you’ page (from the dropdown list) choose to return people to a webpage (the one with your PDF on)
7: click the ‘share it’ tab.
8: click the button ‘Create HTML Code for a small subscribe form’ & copy the form code.
8: insert that into your website or in a WordPress widget (if you use WP)
9: test it.

It works perfectly. Let me know if you have any problems setting it up.
