I’m surprised more people aren’t aware of password protection of pages in WordPress! It’s so simple, maybe people overlook it because they aren’t keen to click around their site.
Adding a ‘private page’ to WordPress is simple. Here’s how you do it:
– To the right of the ‘Add new Post/Page’ window (above the blue ‘Publish’ button), you’ll see the words, ‘visibility: public’ and then an Edit link. Click it. In fact, expand all the ‘Edit’ links if you haven’t already!
– You will now be able to select ‘Private’ from the list of page options and enter in your password.
– Give this to your clients/friends and only they will get access. I did say it was easy! This isn’t the most securest form of protection in the world, but it’s a good starting point.
Now go forth and tell everyone!
